     This local live health show looks at the latest in  both traditional and alternative medicine.  Mimi  works with  major publicists and large  book publishers to find experts to interview for her show. The hour is very informative with up-to- date information you can use.  Your calls to the show are always welcomed.
      Mimi Stoneburner is no stranger to the field of medicine. She has a degree in Health Education from San Diego State University.  She pioneered some of the original anti smoking education programs for the schools throughout San Diego county.  Mimi was also the creator, writer and producer for a medical segment called "You be the Doctor". This television medical news segment featured her husband, Dr. Larry Stoneburner and was nationally syndicated. KFSN Fresno and KBAK Bakersfield carried the segment.

February 19, 2005 - Are you a heart attack waiting to happen?

In his new book, "Track Your Plaque"  cardiologist William Davis, M.D. explains that the true predictor of a future heart attack. It is determined by the amount of coronary plaque that is clogging your arteries.  Dr. William Davis explains how a 30-second test can gauge hidden coronary plaque that can save your life.

Dr. Davis believes people with low cholesterol levels and no family history or symptoms of heart disease are often left with a false sense of security that they have healthy hearts.  The truth is, in 90 percent of patients who experienced a heart attack, there was an absence of symptoms.  No chest pain or breathlessness, an EKG showed no prior heart attack, total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol were average, and the stress test results were normal.  We'll be looking at the latest technology to prevent the number one killer in this country.
